The weather cooperated for one of the nicest days of the spring so
far....members from LU in Westford, Ratheon, retirement etc. came
together to talk about plants, eat pizza and trade gardening stories.
We enjoyed spinchach/garlic pizza, pepperoni, plain, and veggie as we
chatted about the good times that have brought us together as
gardeners.....We spent the last of the plant sale money on this pizza
party-it lasted a long time! Nice to remember the days of the swap
when Karen and Millie were the money mongers!
Plants came in with fancy tags (Dennis and Irene) and but many with just
a verbal description. Some came with plants, some not, but that didnt
matter-seeing everyone was the most important. At the suggestion of
Bill DeHart, we sat in the circle by order of swap number and it made it
much easier to remember who was next - we didnt have to interupt any
conversations, it worked like clockwork.....will do that again for sure!
Funny part is that only a couple of folks had to move to make this
work....we were almost already in order!
The chocolate mint arrived from AnnWiggin and we forgot to give it to
the newest member, Dennis....well next year we will....The "Purple Pot"
(if my memory serves me-correct me if I am wrong, since we have to keep
track of this important tradition :-) ) was taken by Bill DeHart(?), so he
will have to fill it for next year with something interesting....it has
been making the rounds now for a several years....
