Being only an hour from Philadephia, we ventured to the
Philadelphia Flower Show
this year.
Well worth the visit - the entire convention center is transformed
with walk-through landscapes which include wetlands, ponds, waterfalls,
rose gardens, 3-story palm and pine trees, grass lawns, etc.
We attended on a weekday afternoon, supposedly the time for smallest crowds
however it was very, very crowded with groups of gardeners with their pencils,
notebooks and cameras.
Demos, lectures, a bookstore on site. Topiaries, Japanese Ikebana flower
arrangements, tulips galore...this is really a great show that's worth a visit.
For us it was a wonderful breath of spring on a blustery March day.
